Excitement
Squeal!
Looks like the house is ours.
Barring any weird stuff that we’re not predicting, we should be moving in about two weeks.
I don’t know if it’s the fact that we’ll be headed to 4 acres of land and are talking about acquiring a farm animal or two but I’ve started reading the first Little House book with Rosemary last night. She sat through the first chapter and answered the questions I asked her afterwards without hesitation: “What was the name of their doggie again? and who was the oldest sister, I forget her name?”. Admittedly she was baited into this educational experience but this is also a very exciting time for us with the beginning of chapter books.
However, maybe the next book we choose I won’t have to skip over the butchering and draining of the blood from the livestock right before bed. Smooth one, mommy.

Our favorite of the Little House books so far has been Farmer Boy. We had put off reading it because we didn’t think we would like it as much, but we all really loved it.
I hadn’t read your blog lately (behind on my reading), so I was surprised when I passed by your house on the way to church today and saw the for sale sign. How exciting!
